This is an information website about the pet food contamination scandal and several class action lawsuits that are being pursued on behalf of pet owners nationwide. In March and April, 2007, several class action complaints were filed in California State and Federal Courts against Menu Foods and other pet food manufacturers (Lists can be found here), on behalf of pet owners who have purchased recalled pet food products and on behalf of pet owners whose pets have been or may be harmed by ingestion of tainted pet food products. ABOUT THE CLASS ACTION COMPLAINT AGAINST MENU FOODS:
As set forth in the complaints, plaintiffs allege that they purchased Menu Food pet food products which were ingested by their pets. Their pets then suffered illness or in some cases died after eating the food. Menu Foods was aware the food was contaminated, and although they instituted a nationwide recall of the contaminated products, plaintiffs allege it was too little, too late. Plaintiffs assert Menu Foods has breached express warranties that the food was safe for consumption, implied warranty of merchantability, was negligent in not properly testing the wheat gluten attributed to the harm to pets and violated federal and state consumer protection statutes.
